Psalms 143

Psalms chapter 143 from the Douay-Rheims Bible, Challoner Revision

1 May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee. 2 Behold he shall neither slumber nor sleep, that keepeth Israel. 3 The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy protection upon thy right hand. 4 The sun shall not burn thee by day: nor the moon by night. 5 The Lord keepeth thee from all evil: may the Lord keep thy soul. 6 May the Lord keep thy coming in and thy going out; from henceforth now and for ever. 8 A gradual canticle. I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord. 9 Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem. 10 Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together. 11 For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord. 12 Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.
